Measurement of Traffic Flow on National Roads
The AADT figures for 2004 are available by clicking here.
There is a continuing demand for information on the volume of traffic using all parts of the National Road Network. The NRA report "National Roads & Traffic Flow 2003" (published September 2004) aims to provide a best estimate from all available data. It is based on information from 107 permanent traffic counting stations and from a large number of one-day visual counts, carried out during 2003. Approximately one-third of the National Road sections had visual counts in 2003. The estimates provided for the remaining sections with no permanent counter are based on projections of older visual counts, and will thus be less accurate.
Every section of National Road is identified by Route number, description and length. Best estimates of Annual Average Daily Traffic, AADT, and percentage of heavy commercial vehicles are listed for each section for the year 2003.
Information for previous years can be accessed by downloading the reports (which are in PDF format)
