N11 Road Closure on 25th and 26th of August 2007
PROVISION FOR TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC ROAD
Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice that the following public roads will be temporarily closed from 8.00 p.m. on Saturday the 25th August 2007, until 2.00 p.m. on Sunday the 26th August 2007.
Road to be closed
The N11 National Primary Road (northbound carriageway) from the junction of the N11 with the L5046 Kilpedder Road to the junction with the L5046 Willow Grove Road. Total length of closed carriageway is 1.5km.
The N11 National Primary Road (southbound carriageway) from a point located 165m north of the Kilquade (L1042) junction to the junction of the N11 with the L1042.
Alternative Routes
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the length of the closure.
A contra flow will be in place.
N11 Northbound
N11 northbound to the off ramp into Kilpedder Village, along the L5046 link road for 1.5 km and onto the N11 northbound carriageway at Willow Grove (Drummin).
N11 Southbound
N11 southbound, across the central median via the contra flow system onto the northbound carriageway, along the on ramp into the L5046 (Kilpedder Village), back onto the N11 northbound carriageway, across the central median and onto the N11 southbound carriageway.
Kilquade
Access for southbound traffic into the Kilquade (L1042) Road will be maintained.
Kilpedder
The part of Kilpedder Village located within the N11 Road Diversion Zone will be sealed off from the adjoining local road network. Motorists wishing to make trips between the N11 Road Diversion Zone and other local areas or between other local areas and the N11 Road Diversion Zone will use the local road network and the N11 between Junction 9 Glenview Interchange and Junction 12 Ballyronan Interchange to complete their journey.
These road closures are necessary in order to facilitate the erection of the bridge deck for the Kilpedder Footbridge. The Kilpedder Footbridge is part of the N11 Kilpedder Interchange Contract.
