Draft Toll Scheme for the M7 Portlaoise-Castletown/M8 Portlaoise-Cullahill
The National Roads Authority (NRA), in exercise of the powers conferred under section 57 of the Roads Act, 1993, as amended by section 271 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, has prepared a scheme for the establishment of a system of tolls in respect of the use of the proposed national road known as the M7 Portlaoise – Castletown / M8 Portlaoise – Cullahill.
A copy of the Draft Toll Scheme, including a map of the proposed road, and an accompanying Explanatory Statement, may be inspected on working days from Tuesday, 8th March, 2005 to Friday, 15th April, 2005 inclusive at the following locations:
- National Roads Authority, St. Martin’s House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4, between the hours of 9.15 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. (Statutory Display location)
- Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
- Laois County Council, National Roads Project Office, Clonkeen, Portlaoise, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

Objections to the Draft Toll Scheme may be made, in writing only, to the National Roads Authority, St. Martin’s House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4 before 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 3rd May, 2005.
The National Roads Authority will arrange for an Oral Hearing to be held in the event that an objection to the Draft Toll Scheme is received and not subsequently withdrawn. Before making a decision on the adoption of the Draft Toll Scheme, the National Roads Authority shall consider the report of, and any recommendation by, the person appointed to hold any such Oral Hearing. The National Roads Authority may adopt the Draft Toll Scheme with or without modifications, or may decide not to adopt the Draft Toll Scheme.
