Announcement of Shortlisted Consortia for the N25 Waterford Bypass and M1 Dundalk Western Bypass

The National Roads Authority is pleased to announce the shortlisted Tenderers to proceed to Best and Final Offer (BAFO) for the N25 Waterford Bypass and the M1 Dundalk Western Bypass Projects.
The table below outlines the shortlisted consortia and their constituent members.

The N25 Waterford Bypass Scheme comprises the following:
- Construction, Operation & Maintenance of a bypass of Waterford City in the south-east region of Ireland. The scheme construction includes approximately 23 km of dual carriageway and 14km of single carriageway;
- Provision and Operation of Tolling Facilities
The M1 Dundalk Western Bypass Scheme comprises the following:
- Construction, Operation & Maintenance of a bypass of Dundalk Town which is on the Dublin to Belfast Corridor - Euroute E01. The scheme construction includes approximately 11 km of new motorway;
- Operation & Maintenance of existing motorway (approximately 42 km); and
- Operation of Tolling Facilities, currently under construction which includes a mainline plaza and subsidiary tolling at two ramps.
The Authority awaits determination of statutory procedures/legal challenges prior to entering into negotiations and proceeding to the BAFO Invitation in respect of both of these schemes.
This announcement coupled with the Authority’s receipt on the 18th September of BAFO tenders for the M4 Kilcock-Kinnegad 39 km motorway scheme indicates the significant progress the Authority has made on its PPP Programme in recent months. In addition the Authority is pleased to report that construction of its first pilot PPP Scheme, the Second West-Link Toll Bridge, is progressing on schedule and will be completed in August 2003.
