Temporary Closure of N9 at Lukeswell, Co. Kilkenny - 10pm on Friday 13th June to 6am Monday 16th June

The N9 national primary road will be closed to traffic at Lukswell, Co. Kilkenny between 10pm on Friday 13th June and 6am Monday 16th June to facilitate bridge construction on the new N9 Waterford to Knocktopher scheme.

Traffic diversions will be put in place for the duration of the temporary road closure and motorists are advised to follow the diversion signs.

Southbound traffic will be diverted at Knocktopher onto the local road network and will rejoin the N9 at Mullinavat.

Northbound traffic will be diverted in Waterford onto the N25 to New Ross, the N30 around New Ross and then the R700 to Thomastown.  (HGV traffic destined for Dublin will be encouraged to follow the N30/N11 national primary routes from New Ross instead of rejoining the N9)

Northbound traffic on the N9 that reaches Mullinavat will be diverted onto the R704 to New Ross.

Access for emergency vehicles will be provided via a short local road diversion around Lukeswell.

Motorists are advised to avoid the route if at all possible during the closure period and to slow down and follow the diversion signs.
