Tonight’s The Night! M50 Barrier- Free Tolling Arrives at Midnight!
NRA Outlines Payment Methods Available To Unregistered Users.
At midnight tonight eFlow Barrier-Free Tolling starts on the M50 (Saturday, August 30). Drivers of all vehicles using the section of the M50 between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan) are liable to pay a toll, in addition motorists are advised to remember there will be no toll barrier or tolling booth and therefore there is no cash payment facility available at the new M50 Barrier – Free gantry.
Nevertheless, if you haven’t registered for a tag or video account option, there are three easy ways to pay – but you have to do it by 8pm the following day to avoid penalties mounting up.
If you are an unregistered user, payment options are hassle-free. Motorists can either pay their toll in shops or garages nationwide where a Payzone branded logo is displayed. Simply, ask the cashier to pay the toll, provide your vehicle registration details and pay the requested toll amount. You will receive a receipt outlining the transaction details for record. Payzone agents are located throughout the country in shops and forecourts. Look out for the Payzone logo or search for a Payzone location www.payzone.ie
Alternatively, LoCall 1890 50 10 50 or go to www.eflow.ie and just ask/ go to pay your toll, providing your vehicle registration number and payment details.
At present eFlow has over 100,000 registered vehicles and together with the other operators there is a combined total of about 270,000 vehicles registered in total .
Removal of the existing West Link toll plaza will commence this Saturday, (30th August 2008) and it will take about 8 to 9 weeks before traffic is in its final lane layout. The first phase of removal works will be channelled through the four lanes closest to the centre of the motorway. Traffic management measures will be in place – lane separators, rumble strips, speed limits and motorists are advised to adhere to all measurements and signage in place. Dismantling of the toll canopy and toll islands for the outer three lanes will be undertaken in this first phase which will take up to one week to complete.
