Limerick Tunnel Scheme
The Limerick Tunnel scheme will take up to 27,000 vehicles per day off the streets of Limerick at start-up (increasing ultimately to 40,000). The Limerick Tunnel was built in five sections in a casting basin (dry dock) on the North side of the River Shannon. A channel was dredged across the bed of the Shannon river to allow for placement of the five tunnel sections. Then the casting basin was flooded allowing the tunnel sections to be floated out into the river and sunk into position in the dredged channel. What you are viewing is fourth tunnel section being floated out and sunk into position.

M50 Jct 9 (N7) Upgrade - Monastery Road Overbridge Installation
The Monastery Road Bridge over the N7 in Dublin is a Bow-string Arch Bridge (or Tied Arch), comprising two parallel independent arches. It has a suspended deck and will accommodate two-way traffic, cycle lanes and footpaths. It spans over the N7 just to the west of the Red Cow Interchange and forms one of the gateways into Dublin. The steel structure was constructed off-line and rolled into place in one 4 hour move. A specially imported heavy lift mobile jacking unit was used to shift the giant structure from one side of the N7 to the other during the night of 7th October 2008.
