N56 Inver to Killybegs
| Local Authority: | Donegal County Council |
| Start County: | Donegal |
| End County: | Donegal |
| Description: | The proposed scheme starts at the eastern end of Inver Bridge and follows the existing N56 to Ardaghey. The preferred route then moves offline and continues on a direct route to the Five Points junction. It is expected that the scheme will include three major junctions (2 ghost island and 1 roundabout) together with a number of minor lightly trafficked local road junctions. The existing Five Points junction will be replaced with a new junction and this will require some road realignment of the existing R263 & N56 north to Ardara. The route bypasses both Dunkineely and Bruckless villages. Progression of this scheme through the planning phases has been suspended.
This project has been funded by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan. |
