| Description: | High quality dual carriageway bypasses the town of Carlow with three grade separated junctions at Powerstown (N9), Rathcrogue (N80) and Prumplestown (N9), 11 road bridges, one river crossing, one rail crossing as well as a pedestrian cyclist underpass at Rathcrogue.
Ascon Ltd. commenced construction on site in July 2006 and the scheme was officially opened by the Minister for Transport, Mr Noel Dempsey, T.D. on 29th May 2008.
This project has been funded by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan and Transport 21 and by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund. |
