| Description: | Realignment of the existing N2 National Primary route from the townland of Tullybuck north of Clontibret to the townland of Drumcrew south of Castleblayney town. The scheme was built to 2+1 road cross section consisting of two lanes in one direction of travel and one lane in the opposite direction, with the two-lane section providing a safe overtaking zone, alternating with a one-lane section at intervals of 2 km approximately. This scheme is a pilot Type 3 Dual Carriageway.
The scheme was officially opened to traffic on 5 November 2007.
This project has been funded by the Irish Government under the National Development Plan and Transport 21 and by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund. |
